Bristol-based Press Commercial Bodyworks is closing down after serving the haulage industry for 55 years, marking the end of an era.

The family-run business, which employs around 15 staff, is winding down over the next three months.

The company was founded by Martin Warren in 1970 and specialises in HGV and trailer accident repairs and refurbishments, paintwork, graphics and livery. In 2008 it was bought by Martin Warren’s son Dean and daugher Emma.

In a statement announcing the closure, the family said: “The decision to close has been an emotional and carefully considered one. As the industry continues to shift and present new challenges, we recognise this as the right moment to step back.

“Alongside the closure of the business, we, Dean and Emma, have made the decision to step away to pursue other avenues. While this is the end of a significant chapter in our lives, it also marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for us.

“We are immensely proud of the partnerships we’ve cultivated over the years — with loyal customers, committed suppliers, and our extraordinary team —all of whom have been integral to our achievements.

“From our early days in Bedminster Down in 1970 to our modern facilities in Avonmouth, Press Commercial Bodyworks has always been driven by a commitment to outstanding service.

“This remarkable journey would not have been possible without the steadfast support of our customers and the dedication of our team, for which we are deeply thankful.

“Though this marks the end of an era for our family, the legacy of Press Commercial Bodyworks lives on in the trust and goodwill of those we’ve had the privilege to serve.”
