The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is the latest addition to the eActros lineup.
Set for its grand reveal on October 10, 2023, this electric truck represents a significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz Trucks. With a distinctive design and an impressive battery capacity of 600kWh, the eActros 600 sets itself apart from its distribution-focused counterparts, the eActros 300/400 models.
Born from a concept prototype showcased at the IAA Transportation 2022, this vehicle has undergone rigorous testing and is now entering the practical testing phase with a fleet of approximately 50 prototypes.
Product Overview
The eActros 600 represents a significant step in Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ commitment to electric mobility.
Assembled alongside diesel-powered trucks on the existing production line at the Wörth plant, the eActros 600 undergoes a series of stages to integrate its electric drive components, including the e-axle, high-voltage batteries, and front box.
Throughout this process, a dedicated production start-up team works closely with developers to incorporate insights gained from the prototype construction phase into the ongoing development of the vehicle.
Various production sites contribute to the manufacturing of specific components for the eActros 600. For instance, in Mannheim, the complex front box module for battery-powered vehicles is meticulously assembled. This assembly-intensive module bundles control units, high-voltage components, and the electric air compressor. Kassel focuses on the production of the electric axles, and a new assembly line has been established at the site to accommodate this process. Gaggenau, on the other hand, supplies transmission components and housing parts to Kassel.
In terms of design, the driver’s cab of the eActros 600 breaks away from the familiar look of the Actros series and embraces design elements introduced in the concept prototype showcased at the IAA in September 2022.
Daimler Truck announced that the design language of the prototype will be continued, characterised by clear lines and an aerodynamic shape. While the manufacturer has not provided specific details, it has indicated the interior of the eActros 600 will feature innovations to enhance the driver’s experience.
With its integration of advanced electric drive components, collaborative production efforts, and a refreshed design approach, the eActros 600 represents Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ commitment to delivering a cutting-edge electric truck that combines efficiency, innovation, and an enhanced driver experience.

Technical Briefing
The eActros 600, a notable addition to the Mercedes-Benz Trucks lineup, offers impressive capabilities and technical features. One of its key highlights is its extended range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge, eliminating the need for intermediate charging. This range is made possible by the truck’s high battery capacity and a newly developed, in-house electric drive axle.
With low energy consumption, the eActros 600 proves to be the most cost-effective long-haul truck in comparison to the conventional diesel Actros within the Mercedes-Benz Trucks range. The manufacturer anticipates that this electric truck will play a significant role in promoting widespread adoption of CO2-neutral transportation.
Powering the eActros 600 are three battery packs with a combined capacity exceeding 600kWh. The truck features two electric motors integrated into the new e-axle, delivering a continuous output of 400kW and a peak output surpassing 600kW or 815 hp. In addition to the tractor unit, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will also offer rigid variants of the eActros 600, providing customers with a diverse range of fully electric transport options.
To optimise performance and longevity, the eActros 600 employs lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology for its batteries, known for their extended service life and increased usable energy. The company aims for the production model’s batteries to be capable of charging from 20 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes at charging stations with an output of approximately one megawatt.
As the vehicle is still in the prototype and testing stages, detailed technical information may be limited at this time. Freight Carbon Zero will strive to provide you with further updates and information as it becomes available. Watch this space!
