Supply chain management firm CCL Logistics & Technology is back on the acquisition trail after buying Erin Express Cargo earlier this year.
The Ayrshire-based company, which specialises in connecting customers to over 500 carriers, is looking to double in size by 2025, aided by further acquisitions, according to its chief executive and founder Callum Bastock.
Founded in Troon by Bastock in 1999, CCL has an Innovation Centre at Strathclyde Business Park in Bellshill, and offices in Derby and Aylesbury. Its customers range from SMEs to publicly listed companies.
Bastock said the company is currently “looking at acquisitions to support our growth ambitions over the next five years.
“To date, our run rate has seen us double in size every three years, and we’d like to see our growth continue at similar levels.”
Looking ahead Bastock said digitalisation of the supply chain and logistics sector is on the rise “as carriers and customers look to automate workflow and logistics processes, through the networking of devices, systems and companies with one another. Big data is increasingly seen as the way to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiencies.”
CCL Logistics & Technology gives its customers access to a wide choice of logistics operators to help them cut costs. Its technology platform also offers complete supply chain visibility.
The logistics specialist grew revenue by 23% to £29.5m in the year to 31 December 2021, compared to £24m in 2020, while growing headcount to 110.
Commenting on its annual results and plans for further strategic growth, CCL’s Chair, Alison Loudon, added: “The business has a great team of passionate people and has built on its historic success with another strong year of growth.
“Callum and the team are not ones to rest on their laurels, and it is exciting to help guide the company through its next phase of growth.”
