Worksop, Nottinghamshire road access equipment provider TPA Portable Roadways has become the 3,000th company accredited to the Fors scheme, which was rolled out nationally earlier this year.
A spokesman for the company, which has gained bronze level accreditation, said: “We are looking to become bigger and better at what we do and how we do it and our recent Fors accreditation will help us achieve that”.
Fors, which was originally launched as a scheme for London by TfL in 2008, has so far given over 2,700 firms bronze accreditation with over 200 attaining silver status and over 50 reaching gold.
TfL head of freight and fleet programmes Ian Wainwright said he was “delighted” with the scheme’s milestone of 3,000 accreditations so far.
“Since 2008, Fors accreditation has enabled fleet operators in London to demonstrate their commitment to improving the safety and efficiency of their vehicles,” he said. “The success and growth of Fors now place it as the national accreditation scheme for freight and fleet operators.”
