Commercial vehicle operators affected by Scotland’s Low Emission Zones (LEZ) across Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow should head along to a free half-day roadshow next week, brought to you by Motor Transport and Transport News.

You’ll be able to hear directly from Transport Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council  about the LEZ rollout and enforcement plans.

There will also be key speakers from the RHA, Energy Saving Trust and Volvo Trucks to help you shape your fleet strategy to meet LEZ rules and further future-proof your business.

Councillor Scott Arthur, Transport and Environment Convener, said: “Edinburgh’s Low Emission Zone will help to protect people’s health and wellbeing by limiting harmful emissions from traffic.

“Of course, this kind of change will involve some adjustment for people travelling into these zones, and it’s important that they are supported to adapt to cleaner, compliant modes of transport.

"In Edinburgh, a two-year grace period will give residents, visitors and businesses the time to prepare."

He added: “Companies and commercial freight owners are central to this as they underpin our economy. I would encourage anyone with an interest to head along to the roadshow, where there’s lots of information and advice on offer."

A wide range of Euro-6 and alternatively-fuelled trucks and vans will be available for you to check out on the day. So why not take the opportunity to chat with representatives from the following manufacturers, which will all be in attendance at the roadshow: DAF Trucks, Dawson Sweepers, Iveco, Maxus, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Renault Trucks UK, Scania Scotland and event partner Volvo Trucks UK.

Refreshments and a free lunch will be provided to delegates attending the event.

The roadshow takes place at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh on 18 October. It is completely free to attend, but you’ll need to secure a place online if you’d like to join us. Find out more and register for your free place today.
