Industrial developer St Modwen Logistics has helped Welsh business Genpower scale up into a 100,000 sq ft warehouse, which it said would boost economic growth in the region.
The ‘big-box’ warehouse at St Modwen Park Newport will enable Genpower – an entrant in the Wales Fast Growth 50 list last year – to continue offering its e-fulfilment service, which includes picking, packing and distributing Hyundai Power Products across the UK.
The new warehouse attracted a BREEAM Very Good and EPC A rating through the inclusion of building fabric designed to improve air tightness above current building regulations; photovoltaic solar panels and EV charging ports.

Polly Troughton, St. Modwen Logistics MD, said: “Genpower has experienced rapid expansion and it’s fantastic that we were able to accommodate a larger space for them to carry out their distribution services.
"We have experienced an increased demand for high-quality warehouse space at St Modwen Park Newport, and we look forward to building more high-quality sustainable warehouses to meet this demand and supporting economic growth and job creation in Wales.”
