Sir Peter Hendy, London’s transport commissioner, will make the key note address at the FTA's Managing Freight in London conference in June.
The event will cover a range of issues that will affect operators in London over the coming three years, including how increased traffic volume on its roads, seen as a result of the city’s growing population, will affect freight, and how operators can adapt to multiple upcoming upgrade projects.
Hendy said: “It is impossible to underestimate the importance of freight in the capital as without it London could not function. The capital’s roads are facing new pressures, with a population set to reach 10 million by 2030 and infrastructure changes to meet the demands of residents and businesses.
“As we face these changes together we’re pleased to support the FTA as it works with its members and the wider industry to understand and address these challenges.”
The event is sponsored by TfL, Brigade Electronics and Volvo Trucks, and will take place on 2 June at the Kia Oval.
