Erith Haulage saw turnover fall by 23% last year due to a reduction in the work it carried out for its contracting division and also external parties.
In the year to 30 September 2024, the haulier reported revenues of £19.3m, down from £25.1m in 2023.
Pre-tax profits also reduced to £408,000 compared to £679,000 the year before.
In its business review the company said the results were in line with forecasts and the directors remained optimistic about the forthcoming year.
“Gross profit margins increased during the year, from 9.9% to 11.3% reflecting cost efficiency practices taking effect,” Erith Haulage added.
“The market for haulage remains highly competitive, with both smaller businesses fostering strong local reputations and larger PLCs competing on price.”
Erith Haulage Company is part of the Erith group of companies, specialising in civil engineering activities including asbestos removal, demolition, training, land remediation and related ground works, as well as haulage services.
