Nationwide Platforms is handing its northern and Scotland haulage operations over to WS Specialist Logistics so that it can focus on its core business.
Effective from October, the multi-year agreement will see Nationwide’s existing HGV fleet and drivers from nine depots transfer over to the construction logistics specialist.
Nationwide said the vehicles would remain dedicated to its operations, operate under dual branding and continue running from its existing locations.
The partnership does not affect Nationwide Platforms’ haulage operations in its remaining regions.
It added that it will continue to oversee the full end-to-end order management process internally, with WS Specialist Logistics providing dedicated fleet management and driver support.
It said the partnership enabled Nationwide to focus on its core powered access rental and service offering.
Dan Smith, UK COO for Nationwide Platforms, said: “This new partnership with WS Specialist Logistics is a logical step for Nationwide Platforms.
“It allows us to invest more in our core business and prioritise customer needs as we enter a period of anticipated growth.
“WS Specialist Logistics’ experience, infrastructure and track record in our sector make them an ideal logistics partner for this next phase of our development.”
Nigel McMullan, chief executive of WS Specialist Group, added: “Our team is excited to bring our expertise in specialist haulage to support Nationwide Platforms’ operations in the North and Scotland.
“We look forward to building a successful long-term relationship, delivering great service and supporting their future growth.”
