Moody Logistics said it would boost its palletised delivery business by 20% after it was selected by Fortec to distribute goods in the North East.

The Cramlington-based family business has already taken on two new HGV drivers in anticipation of the growth in volumes.

It will collect freight from Fortec’s East Midland’s hub and hopes to secure additional goods for the southbound leg of the journey.

The haulier was appointed partly due its relationship with Pall-Ex Group, which acquired Fortec in 2020.

Barry Byers, Pall-Ex Group MD, said: “Moody Logistics and Storage were an obvious choice for this partnership in the North East, as long-standing members that consistently deliver quality services.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for Fortec and Moody Logistics to work closely to benefit from growth in the area and we are looking forward to seeing the positive effect this will have on the network.”

Caroline Moody, MD of Moody Logistics, said: “We are pleased to become a trusted distributor within the Fortec network.

“This partnership represents an important growth opportunity for Moody’s, representing a 20% increase in our palletised deliveries.

“As a result, we have expanded our team by welcoming two new HGV drivers. Our goal remains to reduce any empty miles by generating more freight from the North East for the return journey to Fortec’s distribution hub that will further boost the revenue potential.”
