Miniclipper Logistics has taken delivery of nine new MAN TGX tractor units and two new Volvo FL5 12-tonne rigids from Dawsonrentals.
The trucks, replacements for Euro-5 vehicles, are fitted with Microlise fleet management systems with forward-facing cameras linked to the system.
Miniclipper fleet director Dave Lightfoot said: “We did put telematics on our fleet a number of years ago, but expect this to be a major improvement.”
He added that he expected to see a reduction in fuel consumption and the operator’s carbon footprint, as well as an improvement in customer satisfaction thanks to the information the system will provide.
Miniclipper opened a 55,000ft² warehouse in Houghton Regis in December following a slew of contract wins.
