Jigsaw has added a trio of pieces to its puzzle in the form of three new partner hauliers.
PC Howard, Nolan Transport and Montgomery Transport have joined the consortium’s 10 other members, which include CM Downton (Jigsaw’s parent company), Elddis Transport and the Widdowson Group.
Jigsaw said the new partners, based in Peterborough, Dublin and Newtonabbey respectively, will give the consortium “greater scalability, flexibility and capacity as the business grows”.
PC Howard in Peterborough gives Jigsaw increased access to the east coast ports with its proximity and a fleet of more than 100 vehicles.
The addition of Nolan Transport marks Jigsaw’s first foray into the Rebublic of Ireland, which will allow the group to send loads in and out of the country for the first time. Nolan’s reach also extends across the channel with a hub in the north of France.
Jigsaw MD Andy Humpherson said: “More partner hauliers in more locations, including Ireland for the first time, allows us to configure contracts more easily to exploit route and load synergies and efficiencies to drive down costs and increase service levels.
“Like all our partner hauliers these companies have an excellent cultural fit with our operational model, are established family-run businesses with regional expertise and share similar core values.”
Last year, Jigsaw landed a multi-million pound contract with Kimberly-Clark, which is mostly handled by CM Downton and S&R Smith and Son.
