GH By Products adds more meat to its tipper fleet

Lincoln-based animal waste management specialist GH By Products has expanded its trailer fleet with 10 new Fruehauf step frame bathtub tippers for collections from abattoirs around the UK.

The first two 67 cubic yard capacity bathtubs have been put into operation and the rest will arrive at a rate of two a month through to November.

The new additions join a fleet of 220 trailers, 43 tractor units and seven rigids and will eventually operate from the company’s depots in Lincoln and York.

Cliff Mear, director at GH By Products, said: “When we made the decision to expand and update our trailer fleet, our first thought was to talk to Fruehauf. Its bathtub tippers are excellent trailers, they’re very well-built and do an excellent job of transporting the loads of animal waste we carry.

“We work closely with Fruehauf to ensure the tippers are built to the right specification to meet the needs of our business, which includes being easily cleaned, something that makes our daily operation more safe, hygienic and efficient.”

The bathtubs are specified with BPW axles and suspension, with 420 x 180 drum brakes as well as reinforced water-tight and air-operated tailgates. Five of the trailers are fitted with drainage taps at the front and rear.
