Chiltern harnesses power of sun for trailer work

The Endurance units are charged via a mains connection at the operator’s depots, with supplementary charging of its battery coming from solar power generated by trailer roof-based panels.

This helps reduce reliance on mains charging, helps extend range and reduces operational costs by eliminating diesel as a source of power.

The cold chain operator said it was looking for a refrigeration solution that provided real-time temperature performance data and audit-ready documentation, in particular to meet the needs of its pharmaceutical clients.

Chiltern’s decision to choose Sunswap’s technology followed a trial, which demonstrated the performance it was looking for as well as highlighting noise reduction benefits.
