DX said it had secured planning permission for a £12m regional hub near Nottingham that will improve efficiency by reducing stem mileage.

The proposals include a 4.5-acre redevelopment and a 25,000sq ft footprint on the New Stanton Park industrial estate.

The new depot will replace an existing freight depot in Nottingham, which will become a dedicated two-man supersite.

Construction is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2024.

Paul Ibbetson, DX Group chief executive, said: “The purchase of this site in Nottingham will enable us to create a major new regional hub and depot for our parcel freight operations and is in line with our plans to make strategic property investments.

“Further site openings and upgrades are planned as we continue to invest in developing the group’s network in line with our growth plans.”

Last week DX said it had reached a full and final settlement with Tuffnells Parcel Express in relation to alleged corporate espionage claims.
