Independent rental, leasing and contract hire specialist, Dawsongroup truck and trailer, has opened a depot in Hull to support operators working in and around the busy east coast port. This brings its number of branches across the UK to 24.
The new site will operate in tandem with the nationwide company’s well-established operations in Doncaster and Leeds, to form a Yorkshire & Humber region for the 12,000-strong Dawsongroup fleet of ambient and temperature controlled rigids, tractors and trailers.
The truck and trailer operations will be overseen by regional manager, Scott Bailey (pictured), who has been with Dawsongroup for 15 years, and the site will also offer vans and static temperature control products.

Scot Bailey said, “We’ve been experiencing a significant increase in the number of our vehicles going into the Hull area, both as the port gets busier and busier and as our rigid and trailer refrigerated fleet becomes increasingly popular.
"As a company that prides itself on proven customer service, we’ve made the positive decision to invest in the area with a full branch facility to offer more immediate support to our local customer base. Being located in the immediate area will help strengthen our service offering to operators for years to come.”
The depot is located on a one-acre site off Burma Drive on Marfleet Industrial Estate, close to the main A1033 that runs by the main port entrance. It will initially open five days a week during normal business hours.
Alongside its truck and trailer offerings for the transport sector, Dawsongroup offers vans, forklifts, sweepers and temperature control solutions.
