Zenith has won a contract to provide maintenance, repair and fleet support services to Amazon’s delivery service partner (DSP) programme.
The leasing firm will deploy mobile service technicians and third-party repairers to support DSPs operating from Amazon delivery stations, nationwide.
To maximise uptime and reduce unplanned downtime, Zenith technicians will also carry out vehicle health checks.
These preventative maintenance inspections identify wear and tear issues early and help DSPs maximise the availability of their fleet.
The e-tail giant’s DSP programme allows entrepreneurs to launch their own last-mile parcel delivery service, delivering Amazon packages.
Zenith’s service will be rolled out to more than 1,000 vehicles over the next three-months.
Martin Jenkins, CEO of Zenith’s commercial division, said: “This solution is a first for both DSPs and Amazon, giving business owners complete cost certainty, while our onsite technicians significantly improve fleet availability by minimising the ‘mean time to repair’.
“The early results are extremely encouraging – we’ve seen data showing a 20% uplift in fleet availability for some DSPs within just a few weeks of going live.”
