Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has extended its contract with Acumen Distribution for kerbside collection of household recyclable waste until 2016.
As part of the extension Acumen will now conduct two weekly collections from public bring sites.
Acumen has assigned two additional compactor trucks for the new weekly collections, which will join seven other vehicles at other times for regular kerbside collections.
The vehicles collect a range of waste including plastic bottles, paper, glass and metals, as well as textiles and food waste. All of it taken for sorting to Acumen's waste transfer station in Burslem.
Acumen collects an average of 33 tonnes of food waste each week and over 167 tonnes of dry recyclables for the council.
