Driver Hire is running workshops on fuel efficient driving for drivers as the cost of filling up an HGV remains sky high.
The one-day, free to attend sessions cover the best methods for cutting company fuel costs and how best to focus training to deliver cost reductions.
It said that with recent prices topping £1.99 per litre for diesel, the average cost to fill a 300-litre truck is now almost £600.
However, it added that a driver who is conscious of fuel use and adopts techniques that improve fuel economy can save a company as much as 20%.
David Slack, Driver Hire commercial director, said: “Companies are reviewing their operational running costs and striving to reduce fuel consumption across their fleets.
“Whether operating a small number of company cars or large fleets of LGV’s, the cost of fuel is one of the biggest financial impacts to profitability.”
The workshops are taking place on 3 and 25 August, starting at 11am. For more details about the courses contact: david.slack@driverhire.co.uk or steve.dethick@driverhire.co.uk
