Electric van drivers in Greater Manchester now have access to hundreds more charge points following an agreement between networks Be.EV and Paua.

The partnership will put 700 more charge points within reach of commercial drivers, expanding the Paua EV charging network.

The addition of Be.EV ensures Paua customers have access to 1,800 EV connectors in the region.

Of these, more than 1,000 are high-powered DC chargers and provides drivers with at least two charge point connections every square mile.

Paua said it could now provide drivers with access to more than 54,000 charge points at more than 17,000 locations managed by more than 35 charging providers across the UK.

Rural areas remain less well covered with the lowest densities of chargers in Caithness, Northumberland National Park and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Niall Riddell, CE and Co-founder of Paua said: “Be.EV is demonstrating true leadership in ensuring that electric vehicle drivers are catered for across the country.

“Starting in the North and with the backing of Octopus, extending across the UK ensures drivers get access to high-quality, well-priced, reliable and green electricity.

“We are delighted to be working with Be.EV.”

TotalEnergies and SSE recently joined forces to launch an EV charging joint venture business in the UK and Ireland, creating 300 EV hubs over the next five years and offering up to 3,000 high power charging points.
