New technology enables high-power battery charging for electric vehicles

Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden has advanced inductive power transfer technology to enable high-power battery charging without the use of a human or a robotic arm. A new type of silicon carbide semiconductor has been developed, as well as a copper wire as thin as a human hair, making high-power transmission via air a possible alternative.
