Nordic parcels and mail firm Bring and Posten is trialling Volta Trucks’ electric HGV - the Volta Zero.

This is the first pilot trial of the vehicle and will see it support Bring and Posten’s inner-city mail and parcel deliveries.

The move marks another step forward for Volta which will shortly be launching in the UK.

The zero emission 16-tonne Volta Zero is designed for inner-city freight deliveries and has an operating pure-electric range of between 150km and 200km.

The truck is designed so that the driver sits in a central driving position, with a much lower seat height than a conventional HGV.

This design, combined with a glasshouse-style cab, gives the driver a wide 220-degrees of visibility, minimising dangerous blind spots.

The trial will see the electric truck undergo extensive testing in inner city locations and provide real-world data and driver feedback to engineers in the vehicle development programme.
