William Stobart’s investment company WS Holdco has returned to the acquisition trail and snapped up Walkers Transport Holdings and Madex Logistics.
It said these acquisitions marked a significant milestone in its strategic growth journey and helped strengthen its position as a leading provider of UK fully integrated logistics solutions.
On completion, the combined group is expected to generate annual revenues of more than £400m.
WS Holdco said Walkers Transport’s proprietary technology stack positioned it at the forefront of the pallet distribution sector. It also added international freight forwarding capabilities to the group.
Madex Logistics offered a hub in London and an international network extending into mainland Europe.
In a statement, the investment company added: “By combining deep sector expertise, digital capability and a broader customer base, the enlarged group is well positioned to unlock cross-selling opportunities, drive efficiencies and accelerate organic growth.
“We are delighted to welcome our new colleagues to the group. Their experience, expertise and strong customer relationships will play an important role in supporting the continued success and accelerated growth of the combined business.”
In March, WS Holdco bought EV Cargo Solutions and Distribution, the transportation and contract logistics division of EV Cargo.
