Online fashion retailer Shein has marked a significant expansion of its UK network after opening an e-commerce logistics warehouse in Cannock and creating 450 jobs.
The 35,000 sqm (377,000sq ft) facility is the third on the Cannock campus and brings the number of logistics jobs supported by Shein in the UK to 1,000 as the company scales its business.
Its Midlands facility is the latest infrastructural investment following the opening of three London offices and a new office in Manchester.
“This investment reinforces our commitment to better serving our UK customers and marketplace partners,” said Martin Reidy, Shein’s director of corporate affairs, Europe.
“This facility enhances our ability to deliver a faster, more reliable service while supporting local economic development through job creation and partnerships with businesses in the region.”
Further afield, Shein has continued to develop its new e-commerce logistics hub in Wrocław, Poland – its primary European distribution centre, which opened last winter.
At full capacity, Shein said the facility would span 740,000 sqm (8m sq ft) and make it one of Europe’s most advanced e-commerce warehouses.
