The Alternative Parcels Company (APC) posted annual results reflecting “steady and sustained” growth amid turbulent trading conditions.
For the year ending 31 March 2025, the parcel delivery network, now owned by William Stobart, generated revenues of £127.6m, an increase of 1.2% on the previous year’s results.
Pre-tax profit was £7.7m, broadly the same as in 2024. Operating profit rose by 3.6% to £7.3m.
The APC said it had seen growth across its niche services, such as fragile, security and liquid and experienced an increase in demand for shipments of larger items.
During the period the network also welcomed new depot members in Hertfordshire, Liverpool, Glasgow and Cornwall.
Mark Fletcher, CFO at The APC, said: “Our latest financial results reflect steady and sustained growth driven by the resilience, adaptability and strength of our network.
“We remain committed to growing and supporting our customers during what continues to be a turbulent economic environment and our local-first approach remains fundamental to achieving this.”
The company said it had introduced 65 new aerodynamic double-deck trailers and 20 new tractor units to support its growth and parcel volumes.
In July, Stobart took ownership of the APC network via his holding firm WS Holdco, as well as asset manager DBAY Advisors and investors.
Fletcher added: “Last year we marked 30 years of The APC, and our transition to new ownership represents an exciting next chapter.
“The business and the network are well placed for the next stage of growth, and I’m looking forward to building on our previous successes as we continue supporting our colleagues and SME customers for years to come.”
