William Stobart’s investment vehicle WS Holdco has acquired EV Cargo Solutions and Distribution, the transportation and contract logistics division of EV Cargo, in a move aimed at boosting operational efficiencies, cross-selling opportunities and organic growth.
Announcing the deal, Knutsford-based WS HoldCo said it marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth, further strengthening WS Holdco’s position in the logistics market and boosting its revenue to more than £300m.
The company added: “The acquisition enhances the group’s scale, capabilities and customer reach, while accelerating its growth trajectory across key markets.
“Following completion of the transaction we will begin a rebranding programme. The combined group is expected to generate annual revenues of well over £300m.”
EV Cargo Solutions and Distribution, which has its headquarters in Ashby-De-La-Zouch in Leicestershire, brings a portfolio of long-standing contracts with blue-chip customers in multiple sectors, operating across road logistics, warehousing and fulfilment.
WS Holdco said the business will fit well within the group, which includes parcel delivery network The Alternative Parcels Company, William Stobart & Son, WS Digital Freight, and WS People Providers.
The company added: “By combining operational expertise, digital capability and an expanded customer base, the enlarged group is well positioned to unlock new cross-selling opportunities, drive operational efficiencies and accelerate organic growth.

Financial details of the transaction are as yet undisclosed.
