Bedfordshire haulage firm Strata Logistics’ financial difficulties appeared to have been confirmed this week after evidence emerged it had been sold to another transport company.
The company lodged papers to appoint an administrator last month – and now Motor Transport has seen an email from Path Business Recovery stating that it had been appointed to handle the haulier’s affairs.
The email, from an assistant manager at the insolvency specialists to a creditor of Strata Logistics, said: “I can confirm that we were appointed today [4 April].
“I can confirm that a sale completed today to Secured Transport Logistics Ltd, a sale which, pursuant to Statement of Insolvency Practice 16, will be reported in full to creditors such as yourself within 7 days of our appointment.”
A statement of insolvency practice 16 refers to a pre-pack administration sale.
Secured Transport Logistics holds a licence for 12 HGVs based at one of the operating centres used by Strata Logistics on the Ridgeway Business Park in Bedford.
The company did not respond.
Companies claiming to be owed money by Strata Logistics have got in touch with Motor Transport to express their frustration at the lack of communication from Strata Logistics.
One, who said it is owed a six-figure sum, said: “My only hope is that the report from the administrator means we can chase it with a solicitor.
“We still work for a few other companies, but we are struggling a bit,” the company director added.
Strata Logistics director Paul White has previously declined to answer questions about his company.
Path Business Recovery did not respond to our requests for comment.
