Specialist transport firm Transafe Logistics in Grimsby has lodged papers in court declaring its intention to appoint an administrator.
The company, which holds operator licences authorising 58 HGVs out of a Stallingborough base, as well as 18 in Doncaster and seven in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, has filed the documents on three separate occasions since the end of February.
Transafe, which describes itself as a purveyor of specialist contract logistics, was established in 2004.
Its most recent set of abbreviated accounts, for the period 1 January 2022 to 31 March 2023, explained that trading prospects remained challenging due to macro-economic market issues, including the critical costs of employment and fuel.
“The company is taking all possible steps to mitigate the effect of these matters and is amending its customer charging structures where possible,” it added.
“A further key factor is in respect of vehicle hire costs where the company is able to apply some significant cost controls by reference to a related party supplier.”
At that point, the company employed 60 staff.
The directors of the company are Ann and Stuart Dytham, whose truck rental firm PT Hire in Derbyshire collapsed last year.
At the time, Ann Dytham told Motor Transport that mechanical issues with its largely MAN fleet were the primary cause of it entering administration.
Dytham had not responded as we went to press.
