Montgomery Transport has been revealed as the first Northern Ireland-based haulier to be accredited for the DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme. The Palletways member, based in Newtownabbey, achieved Earned Recognition founder member status in March of this year but the result has just been publicised. DVSA has published the names of the first operators taking part in its flagship earned recognition pilot, with Wincanton, DPD and John Lewis among the 20-strong cohort.
The new head of the DVSA has promised that its ‘earned recognition’ scheme will be a huge benefit to operators, “as they will be able to work in a freer way than they can now”.
The DVSA’s head of enforcement has hinted that the agency’s flagship earned recognition scheme could go live this year, despite the organisation’s chief executive previously appearing to rule this out.
