Fraikin

Fraikin believes the DVSA’s earned recognition scheme can deliver improvements in vehicle uptime for operators.

The company, which is taking part in the earned recognition scheme pilot along with 20 hauliers, has worked closely with the DVSA over the past 12 months developing the scheme.

David Archer, head of risk and data at Fraikin, said: “The earned recognition scheme has the potential to deliver genuine improvements in vehicle uptime for our customers where we manage their vehicles on our O-license, as it will reduce the likelihood of them being stopped roadside for inspection.

“Plus, as founding member of the earned recognition scheme, we now have the capability to partner and act as data provider for customers to DVSA, even if we do not manage the customers’ full fleet portfolio.”

Fraikin is the first full service contract hire, rental and fleet management company to be earned recognition scheme accredited.

Under the scheme, the operators involved will regularly share performance information with the DVSA. In return, their vehicles will be less likely to be stopped for inspections.

Archer said: “Compliance is at the heart of everything we do at Fraikin. Implementation and roll out of the new reporting tools is now key over the next two months.

“This period will ensure the reporting and data processes are robust and fit for purpose between DVSA and Fraikin, ready for go live of the full scheme at the end of March 2018.”
