Stan Robinson Group saw its pre-tax profit leap last year despite a marginal increase in turnover.
Pre-tax profit at the Staffordshire haulier grew to £387,802 from £4,004 in 2012/13, its financial statements for the year to 31 May 2014 have shown. Turnover increased by 1% to £23.4m, up from £23.1m the year before.
The operator declined to comment on the results, but the directors’ strategic report published at Companies House said that maintaining margins and market share continued to be challenging.
The accounts also revealed that it invested in new IT systems during the year, while its overheads fell by 2%.
Company founder Stan Robinson passed away in April 2012 at the age of 70.
