The acquisition of House of James by Potter Logistics last year has helped contribute to a 52% growth in turnover for the York-based firm.

For the year-ending 30 April 2013 it posted a turnover of £22.8m (less contributions from its Chloros Environmental waste management joint venture) and a pre-tax profit of £1.1m. In the 12 months ending 30 April 2012 the group had a turnover of £15.1m and a pre-tax profit of £1m.

Potter MD Matthew Lamb said that House of James had been fully integrated into Potter and it was taking full advantage of its membership of Palletline.

“At the same time we have increased business with existing customers and new contract wins. In April we announced a 30-year agreement with environmental giant, Sita UK, with the Mersey Waste recovery contract and we also increased our business with Greencore, Westmill Foods and Clipper Logistics.”
