Ripon-based Potter Group Logistics has bought York logistics firm and Palletline member House of James for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, struck yesterday (16 May) boosts Potter’s turnover by 50% to £22m, adding 100,000ft² of warehousing space, 35 vehicles and 55 trailers to the fleet.
Motortransport.co.uk understands that Simon Gill, MD of House of James, will remain at the combined business for at least three years in the role of commercial director.
Matthew Lamb, MD of Potter’s, says: “We have purchased House of James as part of our continuing growth strategy. This deal strengthens our service offering in Yorkshire with the addition of a premium pallet network service.”
Kevin Buchanan, MD of Palletline, says: “Potters is a well respected business and fits nicely with our own ethos of doing it right.”
The House of James brand will also remain for now.
