Yodel has launched two new collection services for SMEs and customers relying on online marketplaces after research found over half of Brits are reselling items in this way.
For businesses sending over 50 parcels a week, Yodel is offering a new account service that gives users access to a regular, booked collection time.
Customers expecting deliveries have access to inflight options and via the app will receive two-hour delivery windows and delivered images.
Customers sending fewer than 50 parcels can now access a door-to-door service via Yodel Direct when booking deliveries within marketplace platforms.
Developed for parcels up to 15kg and with maximum dimensions of 120x50x50cm, Yodel said the two-day Door to Door service is fully tracked and allows customers to print labels at home.
The new services follow Yodel research showing 54% of people aged over 16 were now reselling goods on online marketplaces and creating £7bn in revenue a year.
Yodel added that it had experienced significant growth in its C2C volumes, which has increased by 200% in the last two years.
Mike Hancox, chief executive at Yodel said: “Many of the consumers who began their microselling journey during the pandemic have seen their operations boom into fully-fledged small businesses.
“The new offerings provide bespoke and cost-effective delivery options to small businesses and microsellers alike.
“Over the last few years we’ve seen our C2C services expand from a small part of Yodel, into one of our biggest operations,” he added.
“Through this, we have developed a strong understanding of consumers’ needs when accessing delivery services and this new service means we can continue providing an industry-leading C2C service into the future.”
