XPO has been awarded the EcoVadis gold medal for its corporate social responsibility strategy and performance.

The accolade is a step up from the silver medal it has held for four consecutive years.

The win places XPO Logistics among the top 3% of all companies assessed globally and within the top 1% of road transport companies in Europe.

Key initiatives that helped its rise to the gold standard included the expansion of the low emissions sustainable solutions programme, which provides customers with access to sustainable transport options, such as biofuels and multimodal solutions that reduce carbon emissions.

XPO in Europe has also strengthened its environmental and ethical practices through enriched employee training, rigorous risk management, the introduction of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion scorecard as well as joining the United Nations global compact project.
