Lymm Truckwash has ensured drivers to its site have been kept refreshed with free beverages, biscuits and ice cream during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an effort to say thank you to HGV drivers who have kept working during lockdown, the Cheshire truck washing business handed out the refreshments while continuing to provide a crucial cleaning service.
Its payment kiosk has also been covered in rainbow drawings from local children, with messages of support for key workers.
Extra precautions have also been introduced at the site, including social distancing measures, regular handwashing and cleaning of communal facilities, full PPE clothing for staff and a contactless payment system.
Laura Cardwell (pictured), Lymm Truckwash MD said: “Our aim is to keep the trucks on our roads as clean as possible to help restrict the spread of the virus whilst they deliver essential supplies, plus keep the drivers and our staff safe.
“Truck washing is a crucial service; it is a safety and legal requirement for HGV’s to be clean - lights and number plates especially.
“To help keep the inside of trucks clean we have also been offering cab sanitiser kits to drivers.”
Cardwell added that she has arranged for The Ice Cream Farm to deliver “socially distanced” free ice cream on site in the coming weeks.
