HGV drivers working for Unipart delivering equipment and supplies to NHS hospitals have secured a “substantial” pay deal from their employer, according to Unite.
It means strike action has been called off after the union’s Unipart members voted in favour of the deal.
Around 200 HGV and van drivers on the outsourced contract will benefit from the two year pay deal backdated to April 2021.
Unipart is contracted to deliver hospital supplies by government-owned Supply Chain Coordination.
Unite national officer Matt Draper said: “The workforce at Unipart secured this substantial pay increase by standing together in unity.”
Unipart Logistics recently appointed Ian Truesdale as MD with a brief to 'reimagine' its supply chains using smart technology and automation.
