Haydock-based Law Distribution has appointed an experienced transport manager to lead and develop its palletised freight operation.

Samuel Hayes joins as Law Distribution’s network transport manager and, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations, he has been tasked with managing and monitoring KPI targets to ensure optimum utilisation of the company’s palletised fleet.

In addition, Hayes will implement improvements within the operation to secure the expansion of the company’s presence within the Palletline network and support and guide Transport Team colleagues.

He joins Law Distribution from Graylaw International where he managed depot operations. His previous experience includes transport and warehouse management roles with M&S Transport and Home Bargains.

Law Distribution has enjoyed a positive 26-year relationship with Palletline and was appointed as a regional operator for the network in 2021.

This month, as part of ongoing investment in its fleet, the company has taken delivery of nine new DAF XB 260 18-tonne rigid vehicles.

Speaking about Hayes’ appointment, Angela Carus, Law Distribution managing director, said, “We’re very fortunate to have secured someone of Samuel’s calibre to join our team, he brings with him a wealth of experience, plus energy and passion to move our palletised freight operation forward.

“He is already making a significant contribution and is implementing new ways of working that are making a real difference to our business.”

Hayes said, “The people who work here are hungry to achieve more. There isn’t a ceiling, nothing is ever enough and the plan is always adapting and expanding.

“You can see a culture growing here that demands and rewards excellence, whilst developing homegrown talent, and I’m excited to be part of that.”
