Haydock-based Law Distribution has appointed a new head of transport following a restructure designed to manage the company’s plans for growth.

Phil Pearson joins with 25 years’ industry experience, most recently with Sykes Seafood where he held the position of supply chain director.

He previously held senior roles with James Shaw & Sons, Chris Hayter Transport and Eddie Stobart.

Law Distribution said Pearson’s previous leadership experience includes managing teams of over 150 colleagues, and he is skilled in compliance, governance and driving continuous improvement.

His remit at Law Distribution will be to oversee the next phase of development of the transport operation as the business continues to expand. He will direct the company’s fleet of 50 vehicles and 70 trailers.

Law Distribution managing director, Angela Carus, said, “Following a review of our transport operation and looking ahead to our future plans for growth over the next five years, we wanted to ensure that we are well-resourced to support both customers and colleagues.

“Phil’s high-level experience and expertise in our industry will be perfect to guide us through our next phase of growth; an important time for us.”

Pearson added: “I’m here to support the transport operation to deliver the best-in-class service to our customers and to ensure that we are a company that people are proud to work for.

“We work in a highly competitive industry, both from a commercial and employment perspective, so we have to continually look at ways to improve and develop.

“This is a progressive business with ambitious growth plans and it feels like a great time to be joining the team.”

Phil Pearson replaces former head of transport, Oliver Robinson, who will support the transport team in the newly-created role of transport development manager.

Law Distribution recently announced year-end results to 31st December 2025 revealing a year-on-year 8.8% increase in turnover to £19.6m from £18m. Operating profit increased year-on-year from £46,000 to £445,500, while pre-tax profit rose from £33,000 to £433,000.
