Family-owned storage and distribution company Law Distribution saw both profit and turnover surge in 2025, following a major overhaul of the company’s business.
Founded in 1994, the Haydock-based firm operates a fleet of 40 trucks and 70 curtain-sided trailers, and employs around 200 staff.
The Palletline member and Amazon distribution partner specialises in distribution and storage and operates 350,000sq ft of ambient warehousing.
The company’s latest annual results, for the year ending 31st December 2025, saw turnover jump nearly 9% to £19.6m, up from £18m in the previous year.
In the same period operating profit rocketed from £46,000 to £445,500 with pre-tax profit soaring from £33,000 to £433,000.
Law Distribution attributed the upturn in revenue and profit to new business gains, increased operational efficiencies and curtailing non-profitable customer contracts.
MD Angela Carus (pictured), who joined the company early last year, said: “We made real strides forward in 2025.
“This is a great business with a 32-year heritage, long-standing customer relationships and a superb team of people, and it was time to take stock, audit our whole operation and the way we work, and examine where we needed to make changes.
“One of the significant things we did was to make the decision to no longer service customer accounts that weren’t viable. We also modernised our infrastructure, optimised warehouse space and invested in technology to enhance visibility and planning.”
She added: “With low margins and high intensity, our industry is tough for family businesses to survive in and tribute should be paid to our owner and chairman, John Law, who recognised that he needed to make changes to fulfil his ambitions for the company.
“We now have a robust five-year plan in place to facilitate growth and we’re looking forward to future success.”
