Law Distribution has signed a deal with Volvo distributor Thomas Hardie Commercials to renew its entire fleet of artic vehicles.

The first four FH Globetrotter Aero 6x2 cabs have already been delivered, with the remaining vehicles to be supplied as part of a phased roll-out programme over the next couple of years.

In addition to the new cabs, Thomas Hardie has supplied Law Distribution’s first electric vehicle, the Volvo FE Electric model, which will be added to the Palletline fleet.

The company said that, following road trials of several manufacturers’ vehicles and meetings with suppliers to discuss contractual terms, the Volvo model was selected because of its “superior specification, driver comfort and range of features”, along with high-performing MPG trials and a service package from Thomas Hardie Commercials.

Speaking about the decision to select the Volvo model, managing director Angela Carus said, “As well as securing premium on-the-road performance, a top priority for us was to make sure the selected model included features that enhance the driver experience.

“In addition to a high-spec’ technical pack, the cab design includes a top quality overnight bed, microwave, fridge and TV which really matters to a number of our drivers who regularly spend four nights each week in their cabs.

She praised the team at Thomas Hardie Commercials. “The dealership goes the extra mile in everything they do for their customers and a good example of this is the striking and dynamic livery the team has created for our new vehicles which we’re proud to unveil.”

Steve Wilson, Thomas Hardie sales director, added, “To be working with John Law, Angela and the team at Law Distribution is great news for us.

“This is the first time we’ve partnered with the company and we’re thrilled to be supporting a family-owned business which was founded over 30 years ago and with ambitious plans to grow.”
