Global supply chain giant ID Logistics, which launched in the UK market in July this year, has announced the appointment of Stuart Evans as its first UK MD and the opening of its first UK site in Northampton.
ID Logistics, which has its headquarters in France, is an international contract logistics group. It manages nearly 400 sites in 18 countries, across Europe, America, Asia and Africa, and employs around 38,000 staff. In 2023 it reported revenues of €2.75bn.
The group has recruited Stuart Evans to head up its drive into the UK, with a brief to deliver rapid growth in the FMCG, distribution, consumer goods and e-commerce markets.
Evans brings more than 25 years’ experience in the 3PL contract logistics and transport sector. He joined Danish transport and logistics firm DSV in 1997, gaining experience in commercial and operational management roles through the 2000s and becoming a site general manager in 2017.
From there Evans progressed to the post of regional director, managing the operations of multiple logistics sites across the UK and was promoted to senior director in 2022.
In his new post as ID Logistics UK MD, Evans will report directly to Christophe Satin, deputy chief executive at ID Logistics Group.

Evans has overseen the the launch of its first site in the UK, announced this week. The group is leasing the DC7 facility at Prologis Grange Park.
Located in Northampton the 18,000 square metre site is dedicated to the management of return flows for an unamed global worldwide fast fashion group and will employ more than 300 staff..
The group attributes the returns contract to its expertise in the e-commerce and textile sectors.

ID Logistics hailed its arrival in the UK in July as a ”highly strategic” move offering ”considerable opportunities” for business development.
It added that it plans to develop its business quickly and is backed by several international customers in the consumer goods and e-commerce sectors.
