Howard Tenens Logistics chief executive Jamie Hartles has received the Chairman’s Award from the UK Warehousing Association for his outstanding achievements in the logistics sector.

The UKWA Chairman’s Award is given to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in the industry, traits Hartles had ”consistently proven to embody over the years”, the association said at its annual ceremony.

Michael Thomas, Delamode International Logistics client services director and UKWA chairman, said: ”Jamie is a ‘people’ person, leading from the front, encouraging and supporting colleagues in being the best they can be; he is committed to employee engagement and well-being, and goes out of his way to ensure all his team members feel valued, and see opportunity for development and promotion.”

Hartles joined Howard Tenens 17 years ago as a commercial assistant after leaving university, gaining a broad experience across various sectors of the business, including commercial management, sales, marketing and operations.

Hartles currently oversees the logistics division of the family-led business and collaborates with the logistics board to set the vision and strategic direction, ensuring operations are safe and aligned with the company’s values. He is also a group board member, contributing to the governance of the Howard Tenens group of companies.

Hartles said of his award: ”Life is full of surprises, but to be awarded the accolade of the Chairman’s Award at the amazing UK Warehousing Association awards was one of the biggest and most humbling I’ve ever experienced.

”I’d like to thank all my colleagues at Howard Tenens Logistics for making this possible, as well as our amazing clients and suppliers who provide so much support to us as we continue to create a sustainable, quality focussed business, delivering mutual value to everyone who works for us and with us.”
