The Hazchem Network has spent more than £250,000 replacing its entire fleet of forklift trucks (FLT).

The significant investment in its FLT fleet will allow the hub business to continue to load and unload its members’ freight safely and efficiently.

Following a review of the various suppliers the decision was made by the network to remain with Toyota and completely replace its 12-strong fleet.

Rob Symes, Hazchem Network MD, said a combination of truck performance and service support led to the network staying with the manufacturer: “We have used Toyota trucks for many years and have always been happy with how they have performed in the hub environment,” he said.

“Importantly, our forklift operators like the trucks too. We have a good relationship with Toyota and their engineers, they have always kept the fleet well-maintained and help us when needed.

“This investment shows the network’s commitment to providing the best infrastructure and support that our members and their customers need.”

WT Transport, ABE Ledbury and Lambert Brothers all became new members of The Hazchem Network this year.
