ABE Ledbury has joined The Hazchem Network, taking on the work of two former members and covering the HR, LD, SY7-8 and GL14-19 postcodes.
The transport and logistics firm said membership meant being able to extend its service offering, carrying anything from paints to flammable gas cylinders.
A dozen of its drivers have been assigned to transport The Hzchem Network goods and ABE Ledbury said they were now undergoing training to gain ADR accreditation.
Clive Brooks, ABE MD, said that by serving a very rural area there was potential for its new service to help secure business from companies providing farmers with fertiliser and flammable goods, for example.
“This new service will potentially be of benefit to new customers as well as our existing customers,” he said.
“Most companies prefer their consignments to be transported by as few carriers as possible.
“So, by joining The Hazchem Network we are creating new opportunities with customers we may previously have not been able to support.
“When dealing with new prospects we can say we are able to transport a wide range of consignments and can now add hazardous goods to the list.
“It is a great way to diversify our offering.”
Hazchem Network MD Rob Symes said ABE had a reputation for providing a good service and looking after its customers:
“We have seen how Clive and his team have prepared for joining the network and we have no doubt that ABE will prove to be great member,” he added.
