Malcolm Construction, part of Scotland’s Malcolm Group, has started to take delivery of 50 new trucks fitted with Hyva tipping equipment.
All but one of the trucks are Scania P370 tippers, split between 29 with day cabs and 20 fitted with sleepers. They feature Alpha FC137 tipping gear and 32t Hardox and aluminium alloy bodies built by Falkirk-based Outreach.
The 50th and last is an all-bolted Hyva Titan hookloader mounted to a Scania chassis.
Freddie McAllister, fleet engineer at Malcolm Construction, said: “Hyva’s latest Alpha FC137 actually gives us a lower weight [12,200kgs unladen] than their previous model, yet the latest design is actually stronger.”
Of the 49 new tippers, 12 will be on the road this month with the rest following during the next six months. Ten of the trucks are additions to the fleet while the rest will replace older vehicles.
