Kent-based family haulier Alan Firmin has left Palletforce to join Pallet-Track as it pushes for further growth in 2017.
The road transport, distribution and logistics company will take on the Kent region for Pallet-Track.
The network had been managing the postcode as a temporary measure, since the departure of Birds Transport from Pallet-Track last year.
Pallet-Track founder and MD Nigel Parkes said Alan Firmin’s decision to switch to Pallet-Track from Palletforce was “a significant coup,” adding that the firm is “a major player in Kent and the south east and it brings with it a rich history and innovative ideas for the future, not only for the network, but also for the industry”.
Alan Firmin has a 90-strong fleet of vehicles which it boosted this year with the addition of nine new XF105 Daf trucks and 34 new tri-axle straight frame trailers.
Firmin chairman Paul Denyier, said: "We are pleased to be joining Pallet-Track as a shareholder member as it’s one of the UK's leading overnight pallet networks.
"This exciting new move will enable us to continue to provide comprehensive solutions for large and small consignments, whilst maintaining the high standards of quality and service that our customers have come to expect."
Nigel Parkes, MD at Pallet-Track, said: “Firmin Transport joining Pallet-Track is a significant coup for us.
"It is major player in Kent and the South East and it brings with it a rich history and innovative ideas for the future, not only for the network, but also the industry.”
Parkes added: “This is our fifth new member this year which represents a great end to 2016 for Pallet-Track.”
A spokesman for Palletforce said: “Palletforce and Alan Firmin have parted company by mutual consent. We have a new member coming on board to cover the area and they will be announced in the near future.”
