Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS) has delivered the first refurbished and repowered twin-pack refuse vehicle to Islington Council.
Following a site expansion, RVS is now focusing on meeting the increasing demand for its conversion process with a solution that turns just about any existing vehicle into an environmentally-friendly, zero-emission machine.
The former Dennis Elite 6 vehicle with a Dennis Olympus twin pack body has been retrofitted with electric capabilities as part of the Islington Council’s response to climate change.
Rowena Champion, Islington Council’s executive member for environment and transport, said: “The ongoing electrification of our fleet is a key aspect of our ambitions to create a net zero carbon borough by the year 2030.”
RVS demonstrated how it converts a diesel refuse truck into a fully-electric vehicle at the Freight in the City Expo in August.
