Yorkshire-based Fairfax Plant Hire has taken on seven brand new Isuzu rigids for the first time, adding three Isuzu Grafter 3.5-tonne trucks and four Isuzu 7.5-tonne trucks to its 40-strong fleet.
The seven new Isuzus, which replace seven older trucks, are expected to cover around 40,000 miles a year over a five-year working life.
The new additions consist of three Isuzu Grafter N35.150 rigids fitted with bespoke aluminium Nesmo beavertail bodies that incorporate a winch, together with four Isuzu N75.190(E) rigids with Shawtrack beavertail bodies.
The 3.5-tonne Grafters will work on towing trailers, whilst the 7.5-tonne Isuzus will be used for the delivery and collection of self-drive plant.
Mark Love, Fairfax Plant Hire director, said: “The incumbent vehicles were underperforming so, when we decided it was the right time to replace them, the Isuzu trucks met our criteria for proven reliability and impressive payload, therefore becoming the first ever Isuzus in our 40-strong plant hire delivery and collection fleet.”
Fairfax Plant Hire was launched 30 years ago and now operates through three depots in Selby and Leeds, handling in excess of 1500 pieces of plant and equipment from all the major manufacturers.
Jon Corcoran, senior fleet sales manager at Isuzu Truck UK, said: “For many years now the Isuzu truck range has built up an established proven reputation within the UK plant hire industry with many companies now coming to rely on their versatility and excellent payload.
“It’s good to see a well-established company such as Fairfax Plant Hire adding these new Isuzus to their fleet and we look forward to developing a strong relationship with them during the working life of these seven new trucks.”
