Europa Warehouse has raised £22,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK in tribute to its head of operations who passed away last year.
Graham Dezelsky (pictured) was well-known in the industry and much-loved by his team and so they chose fund raising in his honour and to mark his life.
In total, across all sites and with numerous events, the Europa team raised £11,000, with Europa Worldwide Group match funding to take the total to £22,000.
Europa said customers, staff and suppliers generously donated and the funds raised will go towards ground-breaking research and supporting patients and loved ones.
Pancreatic cancer survival has barely improved in 50 years, with more than half of people with the disease losing their lives within three months of a diagnosis.
Andrew Baxter, Europa Worldwide Group CE, worked closely with Graham for the past nine years.
He said: “We were all devastated to lose such a hugely valued member of our team.
“Good humoured, dedicated, straightforward and incredibly personable, he is greatly missed by us all.
“We’d like to thank everyone who donated to achieve this amazing amount and we’re delighted that Europa was able to match-fund the project.”
